‘Glee’s Chord Overstreet on Cory Monteith: “He Was the Heart of the Show”

Chord Overstreet stops by The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, and the Glee actor opens up about how the loss of Cory Monteith has affected the cast.

Chord tells Ellen, “It’s been difficult so far. We all kind of grouped together and [have gotten] a lot closer because we’ve all kind of been going through the same thing. He was the heart of the show and he was a big part of it to everybody and to me. As well.”

Cory passed away from a drug overdose in July and the show honored his passing with a special tribute episode in October. But the loss of Cory, who played lovable jock Finn Hudson, still inspires Chord, “He was one of my best friends and so it really challenges me to kind of take over his role and kind of be how great he was to everybody.”
