Susan Boyle Reveals She Has Asperger Syndrome

Susan Boyle at Save the Children Secret Winter Gala
Former Britain's Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle has sold over 14 million albums since singing "I Dreamed A Dream" for Simon Cowell in 2009.  The 52-year old Scot, who lived with her mother in a council flat before finding fame, told the Observer that she was recently diagnosed with Asperberger's Syndrome.

"I have always known that I have had an unfair label put upon me," Boyle said (via People). "Now I have a clearer understanding of what's wrong and I feel relieved and a bit more relaxed about myself."

Boyle thought that her learning difficulties as a child were a result of birth complications.  A specialist tested Boyle about a year ago and discovered that she had an above-average IQ.

"It was the wrong diagnosis when I was a kid," she said.  "I was told I had brain damage."
