There’s Some Controversy Brewing Over Britney Spears’ ‘Perfume’ Music Video

The music video for Britney Spears’ “Perfume” was hotly anticipated because, A) it’s a Britney Spears music video and nothing is better than Britney Spears music videos and, B) it was directed by Joseph Kahn, who also directed the music videos for “Toxic,” “Womanizer” and “Stronger.” But the video, as it was released, is a bit, let’s face it, underwhelming. Britney Spears finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her with that bitch Cindy and all she does is cry. This is not the Britney Spears we know and love.

Now it seems that Kahn had other plans for the music video, and the cut we’ve seen was not the one that he had in mind. All week, Kahn has been tweeting about his displeasure with the music video’s official cut:

So what’s in the director’s cut that we didn’t get to see? For one, there’s definitely some sort of shoot-out scene, as paparazzi photos show Spears shooting a scene where she points a gun at someone in a car. But what else aren’t we seeing? Who knows! Will we ever know? Unclear! (But signing this petition can’t hurt.)
