'American Hustle' and '12 Years a Slave' Clean Up Critics' Choice Movie Awards Nominations

'American Hustle' and '12 Years a Slave'
The Broadcast Film Critics Association has announced its list of nominees for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards with American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave leading the pack once again with 13 nominations each. Gravity falls close behind with 10. At this point, American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave look unstoppable, heading into the announcement of Oscar nominations, which is set for Jan. 16.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association is the largest group of critics in the nation, the Critics' Choice Awards made headlines last year after naming Ben Affleck Best Director on the very same day that the Oscar nominations were announced, snubbing Affleck. For the second year in a row, the Critics' Choice Awards are set to air on television the same day as Oscar nominations are announced.

The biggest individual winner from today's announcement is Sandra Bullock who managed two pull two nominations for her performance in Gravity (Best Actress and Best Actress in an Action Movie) as well as a comedy nod for her work in The Heat. Similarly, Jennifer Lawrence was also nominated for her roles in American Hustle (Best Supporting Actress) and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Best Actress in an Action Movie).
