Remember when Jessica Hart said that Taylor Swift didn’t have what it takes to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel? Well, the model is now backtracking on her words.
“It was taken out of context, but I have certainly learnt my lesson,” Hart said of her infamous diss in the latest issue of Vogue Australia.
Previously, the 27-year-old told Women’s Wear Daily that the “I Knew You Were Trouble” songstress “didn’t fit” in with the rest of the models she shared the stage with at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
“I think, you know what, god bless her heart. I think she’s great,” she said at the time. “But, I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that. I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.”
Ed Razek, the chief marketing officer of the lingerie brand, came to Hart’s defense after the quote was published, quashing rumors that Australian model had been axed by the company for her comment.
“There is no truth to the rumors that Jessica Hart has been fired or that she will no longer work with the brand,” he told the press. “As you will see, she was a great part of our show and we look forward to continuing to work with her. As previously reported, we at Victoria’s Secret and all those involved, including Jessica Hart, were thrilled to have Taylor be a part of the show.”
