Harry Keeps With Tradition, Sports His Beard at Christmas
Just like his brother did in 2008, Prince Harry left his face unshaven for Christmas festivities. 2000 well-wishers were treated to a ginger beard while the royal family made their way to Christmas service at Sandringham yesterday, and Harry told a few fans that he was keeping with a certain tradition.
Prince William grew a beard during a 2008 Naval training exercise in Barbados, and opted to leave his new look alone for the holidays. That year he was the runner-up in England's beard contest, losing out to the Archbishop of Canterbury and Tom Jones.
In 1975, Prince Charles did the same after his Naval training took him to Alaska.
One assumes Prince George will carry on the Wales tradition in due time, but this year he was busy with more important matters.
"George has opened his presents but he was more interested in the wrapping paper," the Duchess of Cambridge told one person, while her husband was looking forward to the coming years with his son.
"We've had a good morning but we can't wait until next year when he's bigger," William said.
