Kanye West Makes New Year’s Resolution Not to “Talk S**t,” But Decides to Talk S**t to a Fan
And over the weekend during the final leg of his Yeezus tour in Toronto, Canada, the controversial rapper wanted to let everyone know about his resolution.
“This might be the last time y'all hear me talk s--t for a long time," he told the crowd Dec. 24. "Might be another, like, six months. At least. You're just gonna have to run back the interviews and s--t if you wanna hear some realness.”
As the five-day countdown begins, the king of s**t-talking is packing in all the s**t he really wants to say.
And as usual, Kim Kardashian's fiance isn’t lacking in self-confidence.
Per Kanye, the press is too hard on him and musicians in general, who -- like teachers and soldiers -- are serving the world with their unmatched talents.
Here are some of our favorite concert quotes:
“Ten years from now I’ll be running my own Walt Disney and s**t,” he told the crowd on Christmas Eve.
“Why do people have so much negative shit about somebody who just has something to say?
“Anybody who’s ever talked s**t I probably didn’t say one thing that was dissing them in the interview.
“They’re probably going through the same type of s**t in their life and they don’t wanna face it.
“When I talk about it, it makes people think about s**t they’re dealing with in their own life.
“What I’m saying is when the f**k is it okay to just take the musician and try to diss him all over the motherf***ing internet? Like what do you mean… we’re providing a service to the whole world… so why the f**k every time you go to the internet it’s someone bringing up some bulls**t? We make this s**t because we love this s**t and we love ya’ll. So how is it okay for motherf***ers to talk so much s**t about musicians? I don’t give a f**k about who. Talk s**t about Beyonce, talk s**t about Rihanna, talk s**t about Drake, talk s**t about me, talk s**t about Jay[Z].
“No, I’m talking about it’s a motherf***ing problem, it’s too much of it. The mentality is f***ed up.
“What if there was no music?
“We are in a service position. We provide a service to the world.”
The night before he also told his loyal fans that despite the paparazzi run-ins and leather jogging pants confusion aside, he’s not angry man. In fact, he wants you to know what a happy guy is really is.
“They think in some way I’m angry. I’m not angry at all. I’m extremely, extremely, happy. Extremely happy," he said on stage Dec. 23. "My approach might be slightly different when I talk when I’m in interviews. People usually only talk like that when they’re around their family. But see, with me, I believe that all ya’ll is my family.
"You got some older writers that understand what real music is and s**t and are like 'let him do what he wants.' Then you got people who are disgruntled and s**t and kind of like sad about life and they're going to take everything I said that might not be the right thing… and try to glorify that. I think in the last three months the s**t I’ve been saying I’m going to look at it in 10 years and be like, 'that was very inspirational, actually.' Just to take those risks…
"I’m actually cool with the paparazzi," he added. "I embrace that s**t. Because if it wasn’t for the paparazzi, if it wasn’t for you…
And just when we were really starting to believe in Kanye's "I'm not angry" speech and just say no to s**t-talking mantra, someone in the audience had to shout "Take your mask off!"
Which, of course, didn't go over well.
"Don’t scream at me while I’m talking or you can get the f**k out… ‘take your mask off’… take your motherf***ing mask off in the car!" Kanye responded.
"The only way I get sued is when I’m in a deposition and motherf***ers try to talk s**t while I’m talking. I’m speaking, don’t turn this way. I talk, you listen, shut the f**k up."
Good luck with that New Year's resolution, Kanye.
