Ellie Goulding FINALLY Talks About Performing For Will and Kate
She's never said more than a few words about performing for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but Ellie Goulding has finally decided that enough time had passed since the royal wedding, making it safe for her to gush about the BEST. GIG. EVER.
"In the weeks before, everyone I know was talking about the wedding, and I sat like [puts knuckles in her mouth], trying not to say anything," Goulding told February's Marie Claire UK.
"I kept it to myself for so long – but no one would have believed me anyway."
For the couple's first dance at Buckingham Palace, Goulding was asked by William and Catherine to perform her famous cover of Elton John's "Your Song" (the original was one of Princess Diana's favorites).
The proud Brit also got to chat with the newlyweds, and gets why some of us are quite taken the future monarch and his lovely consort.
"I talked to William and Kate quite a bit," Goulding said. "They’re just a really awesome couple, lovely people, so I understand why people are fascinated by them.
"It was a really beautiful night," Goulding recalled of the evening reception, hosted by Prince Charles. "But then, I haven’t been to many weddings."
The February issue of Marie Claire UK is on newsstands now.
