Madonna Shared A Pic Of Her 13-Year-Old Son Surrounded By Booze And Her Fans Aren’t Holding Back Their Concern

Madonna has always been outspoken when it comes to cultural and political issues, but there’s a debate brewing on her Instagram that she may not have bargained for. Just yesterday, the Material Girl shared an image of her 13-year-old son Rocco surrounded by bottles of hard liquor.

Obviously some fans took concern with the picture, which was taken in the Swiss Alps, as the legal drinking age in the United States is 21 years old and is 16 in the Switzerland. It’s especially bothersome to many because she added the message, “The party has just begun! Bring it! 2014.”

That post has been commented on more than 25,000 times in the few hours that it’s been online. I’m surprised no one has flagged it for inappropriate content in all that time. And although Rocco, whose father is director Guy Ritchie, isn’t actually drinking in the picture, he preempted Madonna with a picture holding what some are speculating to be a glass of champagne.

He also shared a moment of himself and a friend behind a bar saying, “Me and @dom_sesto work hard behind the bar tonight #faded.”

I think the real level of concern here should be with anyone who thinks they can tell someone else how to parent their children. Just to play devil’s advocate, whose parents didn’t sneak them a sip of alcohol now and again before they turned 21? Without any knowledge of the situation though, this may be one of those times when the people of the world need to step back and take let people live their lives however they see fit.
