Meryl Streep Has Gotten Really Good At Taking Selfies On The Road To The Academy Awards
Meryl Streep may be 64 years old, but she seems pretty knowledgeable about the art of taking a proper selfie. Alongside Margo Martindale, her August:Osage County co-star, she put those skills to good use last night on the red carpet for the 25th Annual Palm Springs International Film Fest Awards Gala.
Meryl was recognized for her lifelong career as a chameleon and took home the Icon Award. Other celebs in attendance that were honored were Sandra Bullock, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Hanks, and newcomer Lupita Nyong'o for her heartbreaking performance in 12 Years A Slave.
The annual film festival in Palm Springs was founded by Sonny Bono in 1989 while he was the mayor of the small desert community. It regularly hosts foreign films that go on to garner recognition from the Oscars and is usually considered to be the start of Awards Season. And Hollywood is chomping at the bit to get the 2014 Awards Season started.
Everyone who was anyone hit the red carpet last night in Palm Springs and they all brought along their best fashion and fresh faces to the desert. From Amy Adams to Colin Farell and Bradley Cooper to Chiwetel Ejiofor, the carpet was packed with the actors and actresses all hoping to snag an Oscar Nomination on January 16th.
