Marc Jacobs’ Longtime Photographer Has Something Against Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has twerked her way into becoming the reigning Internet queen and you just have to look to her Twitter followers to understand how many millions of hearts she’s won over.

But there’s one person who’s not buying into the wild child act that’s made her a phenomenon.

Whether you’re a fashionista or not, you have to know by now that Cyrus has teamed up with designer pal Marc Jacobs as the new face of his Spring 2014 collection.

“We all just love her and her entire being, her energy, her talent, her intelligence, everything,” Jacobs gushed to Women’s Wear Daily. “There’s nothing I don’t like about her. She is just genuine and very natural.”

But, it seems, those doting sentiments aren’t shared by the designer’s longtime photog, Juergen Teller, who has snapped Jacobs’ iconic campaign images for years.

“I have worked with Juergen for years and love him as an artist,” Jacobs said. “He just didn’t want to shoot her.”

Instead, Jacobs brought in renowned fashion shutterbug David Sims, who’s gone behind the lens for Vogue, Prada, Alexander McQueen… you get the picture.

“We wanted this beach with girls kind of sulky and broody,” explained Jacobs, “and we thought it would be cool if it was Miley with what could be two friends, feeling distant and quite dark.”
