Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie Announce Separation
After three years as husband and wife, Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are calling it quits.
“Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have mutually decided to an amicable separation,” Duff’s rep says in a statement, according to E! “They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”
The 26-year-old singer/actress and 33-year-old former Edmonton Oilers hockey star got engaged in February 2010 while vacationing in Hawaii after dating two years.
Six months later the couple said “I do” during an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif. at the Mediterranean Villa La Quinta in front of about 100 guests.
Duff and Comrie welcomed their son, Luca, in March 2012, which the one-time Disney star said only strengthened their marriage: “It’s made [our marriage] stronger,” Duff, 24, told Hollyscoop in a recent interview. “Having a baby is a lot of hard work and you really depend on each other for a lot. There is so much love . . . you can’t imagine it until it happens to you and you look at your husband and you’re like, ‘We did this together.'”
And it seems the exes are dedicated to staying friends. They were last seen together at the park with their son just three days ago in Los Angeles.
