Best Dressed Celebs at the 2014 Golden Globes
Tonight, I was inundated with too many lovely gowns. For a minute I was in love with Leslie Mann’s black number, but then got distracted by Sofia Vergara’s more dramatic number accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, so Vergara won.
I handed out Ws to those who showed off color, namely Aubrey Plaza, Sandra Bullock and Caitlin Fitzgerald, and was pleased as punch to add Amy Poehler to this year’s list, for she has blossomed into a hot piece.
One is always disappointed to not see Downton Abbey’s Dame Maggie Smith on the red carpet. However, one was glad that her co-stars, Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery were dressed for the occasion (welcome to America, where we did things BIGGER and POUFFIER).
Before you launch this year’s Best Dressed gallery, I must give honorable mention to the following:
Julie Bowen (in Carolina Herrara)
Kaley Cuoco (in Rani Zakhem)
Julie Delpy (in Romona Keveza)
Julia Louise-Dreyfus (in Narciso Rodriguez with Fred Leighton jewels)
Elsa Pataky (in Paule Ka)
Kerry Washington (in Balenciaga)
Reese Witherspoon (Calvin Klein)
Emma Watson, I think (Dior)
Laura Dern (in Roberto Cavalli)
Kyra Sedgwick (in J. Mendel)
Emma Roberts (in Lanvin)
