Sean, Charlize, and a slew of their famous friends came together in Los Angeles Saturday in support of Sean’s Haitian Relief Organization. It’s the third year they’ve presented the Help Haiti Home Gala in hopes of raising funds to continue their relief efforts in the country.
The many celebrities in the audience, including Penn, adresed the audience at various points throughout the evening. At one point, the actor told the audience that, “The cure for poverty is the empowerment of women.”
In a move of solidarity, he also gave his collection of 67 guns to artist Jeff Koons so that they could be transformed into a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Anderson Cooper ultimately won the bidding war for the sculpture, buying the piece for $1.4 Million.
Cooper hosted the event which ultimately raised $6 Million for the cause.
