This morning the 86th Academy Awards nominations were announced and as predicted both American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave cleaned up in the big categories.

Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence all got nods for American Hustle as did the director David O. Russell and the film received a Best Picture nomination. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong'o were all nominated for their work in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave. McQueen got a director nod, and again the film is up for Best Picture. Golden Globe winner Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for The Wolf of Wall Street as was his co-star Jonah Hill.
