Her Majesty, now a great-grandmother to four, issued the following statement:
The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mike’s parents, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, have been informed and are delighted with the news. The baby’s name will be confirmed in due course.
Though her mother, the Princess Royal has a title, Phillips and her older brother, Peter are private citizens. Therefore, the baby will only be referred to as Miss Tindall.
Meanwhile, Phillips’ cousin, Prince Harry has switched jobs and will now be based in London.
Kensington Palace confirmed today that Harry has “completed his attachment to 3 Regiment Army Air Corps and will now take up a Staff Officer role in HQ London District.”
Harry, who will retain his rank as Captain Wales in the Household Cavalry, will partake in organizing London-based ceremonies.
Working in London will give him more chance to combine a fulltime military job with more charity work and royal duties.
