35 Awesome Things Kate Middleton Did During Her First 1,000 Days as a Duchess
Today, the Duchess of Cambridge reaches a milestone as a member of the House of Windsor.
According to the Daily Express, Her Royal Highness has completed 1,000 days as a Duchess, having achieved much in the three short years she’s been married to Prince William.
Catherine has traveled to North America and South East Asia, acted as an ambassador for Team GB at the 2012 London Olympics, and taken on charities close to her heart.
Since having Prince George, the Duchess has scaled back on her royal responsibilities, but only until she adjusts to life as a working mom.
“She is a new mother and that is the most important thing for her in the next few months, to get it right as a mother,” an aide told royal reporter Richard Palmer. “She is learning how to be a working mother.”
The Queen, who is quietly scaling back her responsibilities ahead of her 88th birthday in April, has given William and Catherine her blessing to put their marriage ahead of royal duty for the time being.
“In the grand scheme of a royal life this is a pretty short space of time. It’s important to get the balance right,” the aide added.
Come April, the Cambridges (along with George, though not confirmed) will tour Australia and New Zealand.
