Trent Reznor Has Two Words for the Grammys: “F**k You”

The Grammys were a great night for Daft Punk and those random couples who got married and Katy Perry’s coven and Beyoncé‘s libido, but Trent Reznor wasn’t having as much fun. Scheduled to close out the show with an all-star lineup of Dave GrohlJosh Homme and Lindsey Buckingham, the show’s producers allowed the group to perform for just a couple moments before cutting away to remind us that Delta was the official airline partner of the Grammys. It was rude, it was tacky and Reznor certainly noticed.

On stage were members of iconic bands like Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Fleetwood freaking Mac. They were set to perform Nine Inch Nails’ “Copy of A” and then move on to Queens of the Stone Age’s “My God Is the Sun.” However it was cut short by the closing credits for the show — which had already run long anyway.

It’s not Reznor’s first time blasting the Grammy Awards. In 2011, he told The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t display his Grammys saying, “Why don’t the Grammys matter? Because it feels rigged and cheap — like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided.”

The Grammys producers have yet to address cutting the performance short.
