What Happened to Katy Perry's Sense of Style?

'Roar' singer's floral disaster is latest fashion misstep.

Back in the day, Katy Perry wore a lot of latex, and wore it well. Then she sort of evolved into the quirky risk-taking fashionista we came to know and love. The pink-haired Geisha, the red, white & blue eyelash-wearing wildflower that stood out from the solely skin-showing likes of her peers (Rihanna, Miley et al.) If Katy wore it, she rocked it.

But lately, something's been amiss with the Prism pop star. Her fashion choices seem ... misguided. Last night, she performed at the Grammy salute to the Beatles in a Dolce & Gabbana ensemble that can only be described as a floral bedspread and matching duvet cover. Or a set of curtains. Or a roll of fabric lifted from Megan Draper's dressing room.

Katy, who unfortunately went home Grammy-free yet again the other night, did get the dubious honor of landing on our Worst Dressed list for music's biggest night in this Valentino frock. Later, she changed into this Giorgio Armani Disney princess-y blue gown to attend a post-Grammy party with her beau John Mayer.

So many impressive designers making such ill-conceived dresses. Maybe this is just a fashion phase for the "Part of Me" songstress. Perhaps her boyfriend should be a bit more hands-on with Katy's wardrobe choices, like a certain someone Kanye West. On second thought, he should probably stay out of it.

Is that the rest of his jumpsuit hanging down in the back? Just. No.
