Actor George Clooney is a known for his practical jokes, but this time it is a straightforward joke at the expense of Gwyneth Paltrow that he’s getting some play.

In an all-new behind-the-scenes look at the Hollywood Issue cover shoot for Vanity Fair, Clooney and Julia Roberts sit down to chat about the experience. “It’s cool,” says Roberts.

“I’m very excited,” adds Clooney. “I think it’s going to be fun.”

He then takes a moment to take a playful jab at Paltrow. “That’s what Gwyneth Paltrow told me to say,” he grins, from ear-to-ear. “What the hell was that about? Why did I get pulled into that one, huh?”

In the magazine’s upcoming March issue, the cover of which features the most diverse collection of stars in recent years, editor Graydon Carter digs up the dirt behind that “epic takedown” piece that never was.
