Hollywood mourns the tragic loss of the Oscar winner.
Cate Blanchett, who is currently starring in George Clooney’s Monuments Men, which opens this weekend, has canceled her promotional morning show appearances. The Oscar-winner had been scheduled to appear on both Good Morning America and Live! With Kelly and Michael on Wednesday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blanchett’s rep said the interviews were canceled “to allow Cate the time and privacy to grieve for the loss of her friend Philip Seymour Hoffman.”

Blanchett’s upcoming appearance with the Monuments Men cast on Jimmy Kimmel Live was taped before Hoffman’s death.

Blanchett starred with Hoffman in 1999′s The Talented Mr. Ripley. She and her husband Andrew Upton remained close to Hoffman throughout the years.

It should also be noted that Cate is nominated for a lead actress Oscar for her work in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine. The cancellations may also have something to do with the renewed allegations that Allen sexually assaulted his adoptive daughter when she was seven years old.
