Dakota Johnson Leaves the Handcuffs Behind for Her 'Elle' Spread

She's poised to become a sex symbol playing Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey and, from the looks of it, Dakota Johnson is ready for the spotlight. Johnson appears on the March cover of Elle and while the cover is fairly demure, things get pretty sexy in the pages of the magazine.

Johnson also talks about her Fifty Shades role and whether she's nervous for the racy content. "I don’t have any problem doing anything," she tells the mag. "The secret is I have no shame." As for what interested her in the role, Johnson says it was more about the emotional relationship between Anastasia and Christian Grey than the sexual one:

"Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there's a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down."
While Fifty Shades may be her big breakout, Johnson is no stranger to the spotlight. As the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, she's pretty familiar with Hollywood. "I think people, especially the press, like to pick on children of famous people and I think that’s f**king awful," she says. "Things get made up. It's so, so sad. And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it as a 16-year-old. You're like….Why? What did I do?"
