Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Williams and Ashley Olsen Among the Celebs to Attend Funeral for Philip Seymour Hoffman
Hollywood’s finest actors celebrated and mourned the life of Philip Seymour Hoffman at a private funeral Friday in New York City.
Among the late star’s closest friends who arrived at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in Manhattan’s Upper East Side included Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ashley Olsen, Justin Theroux, Justin Long, Michelle Williams, Louis C.K. and Marisa Tomei.
Those who shared screen time with the 46-year-old Oscar-winning thespian also paid their respects, including Anna Paquin, who co-starred in 25th Hour; The Master’s Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams, and Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead co-star Ethan Hawke.
Attending the wake the day before was Billy Crudup, Cate Blanchett and Ellen Burstyn.
The somber crowd, who mostly arrived draped in black attire and wearing sunglasses, laid their friend to rest alongside Hoffman’s grieving family, including girlfriend, Mimi O’Donnell, and their children, daughters Tallulah and Willa and son Cooper.
Hoffman, who long battled drug abuse, was found dead of an apparent heroin overdose in his NYC apartment last Sunday.
