Shia LaBeouf Abandoned an International Press Conference after Bizzarely Answering One Question
We aren’t sure why Shia LaBeouf even shows up for work any more, because he obviously hates having anything to do with the movie business. He drove that point into the ground on Sunday when he left a press conference after answering just one question. And by answer, we mean he quoted a French soccer player who has nothing to do with his new movie, Nymphomaniac.
It was just last month that he announced his retirement from acting, yet he is still being forced to do the rounds for his newest movie set in the world of sex addiction.
Along with costars Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, Stacey Martin,Stellan Skarsgard, and director Lars von Trier, LaBeouf posed for pictures and even graced the press with his presence at the open table discussion in Germany.
And after a reporter asked a question to do with the movie’s much talked about sex scenes, Shia took a sip of water, dropped the quote, and left the event in the dust.
“When the seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much.”
The moment is eerily similar to when Eric Cantona, the aforementioned French soccer legend, was in a similar situation and released the gibberish on a room full of journalists after taking a long sip of water.
We aren’t sure what Shia is playing at, but he really needs to start respecting the business and the journalists who take the time to care. If that isn’t possible, maybe retirement isn’t such a bad idea.
In any case, Shia has been making his best effort to avoid the spotlight with a fun little daily occurrence on his Twitter feed.
