The newlyweds toured North American in 2011.
Tonight, the Duchess of Cambridge borrowed Queen Elizabeth’s Nizam of Hyderabad necklace, the third known piece that Her Majesty has loaned out to Catherine since her wedding day on April 29th, 2011.

The other pieces included the Cartier Halo tiara, and a maple leaf brooch that Catherine took on tour in 2011.

The necklace was part of a set gifted to the Queen as a wedding present by the very wealthy Nizam.  According to Artemisia’s Royal Jewels, Cartier made the necklace, which consisted of 38 diamonds, complete with a diamond-encrusted snap.

A detachable double-drop pendant (made of 13 emerald-cut diamonds and a pear-shaped drop) makes up the pave-set center of the necklace.

Catherine will join her Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace on February 17th for a reception celebrating the dramatic arts.  Dame Helen Mirren, Cate Blanchett and Benedict Cumberbatch are expected to attend, according to HELLO!

The Duchess also wrote the forward for a book about Royal Air Force wives, titled Living In The Slipstream: Life As An RAF Wife.

The three editors of the collection are all RAF wives themselves,” Book Guild Publishing rep Louise Campbell told E! Online.  “I think that they just felt that obviously it would lend the book some amazing credibility to have a forward by somebody that’s obviously in the public eye, but is also an RAF wife herself.”
