Tonight, the Duchess of Cambridge made her first official appearance of 2014 at the National Portrait Gallery’s fundraising gala.  Catherine rewore her ink blue Jenny Packham gown, first seen at last October’s 100 Women in Hedge Funds dinner.

According to the Daily Mirror’s Victoria Murphy, Her Royal Highness borrowed Queen Elizabeth’s Nizam of Hyderabad necklace, which was given to Her Majesty as a wedding present.  According to The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor, the necklace (and accompanying tiara) were made by Cartier and inspired by English roses.

Inside the black-tie fundraising event, Catherine made a speech in front of guests including Alan Rickman, Elizabeth Hurley and David Bailey.
