Brooke Burke-Charvet Eliminated from ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Before the new season has even begun, someone has been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.

Brooke Burke-Charvet has been axed from the competition series after co-hosting alongside Tom Bergeron since 2010.

Brooke broke the news herself, and in typical Hollywood fashion, on Twitter.

Shortly thereafter, she released an official statement with E! Online.

“I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture,” she said in a statement. “I’ve always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn’t able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I’ve seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake.”

Burke-Charvet took over hosting duties on the show after she and Derek Hough won the seventh season of the dancing-competition series. Samantha Harris had worked with Bergeron up until then.

The 18th season of DWTS premieres with a new batch of “celebrities” on March 17.
