WATCH: Best Actress Oscar-Winner Cate Blanchett Has A Lot of People to Thank, But Tells Julia Roberts to “#SuckIt”

Cate Blanchett is 2014’s Best Actress Oscar winner for her role in Blue Jasmine, but she couldn’t take home the gold without giving props to her fellow nominees, a playful jab at Julia Roberts, and a nod to girl power in Hollywood.

“As random and as subjective as this award is, it means a great deal,” she told the crowd inside the Dolby Theatre who got on their feet to applaud her big win. “In a year of extraordinary performances by women.

“Amy Adams, everything you do, but your performance in American Hustle blew my mind," Blanchett gushed.

“Meryl [Streep], what can I say?

“Sandra [Bullock], I can watch that performance till the end of time and I sort of felt like I had,” she laughed.

“Julia, #suckit. You know what I mean!” Blanchett said with a chuckle of their inside joke.

“Judi Dench, I mean, what a career. She’s not here tonight because at the age of 79 her film was so successful she’s in India doing a sequel.”

The 44-year-old Aussie, clad in Armani Prive and dripping in Chopard jewels, took her moment on top to remind male-dominated Tinseltown of the power and prowess of females in film.

“To perhaps those of us in the industry who are foolishly clinging to the idea that female films with women and the center are niche experiences, they are not, audiences what to see them and, in fact, they earn money. The world is round, people!"
