Jan Thozomas John Travolta is finally speaking out about royally screwing up the pronunciation of Idina Menzel's name during Sunday night's Oscars broadcast. (And by messing up, we mean creating one of the year's most hilarious memes.)

"I’ve been beating myself up all day," the actor, who introduced the Tony-winning actress as "Adele Dazeem" during this year's Academy Awards, said in a statement via his publicist. "Then I thought ... what would Idina Menzel say, She'd say, Let it go, let it go!"

He added, "Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!"

Menzel was at the star-studded ceremony to perform "Let It Go," which nabbed the Academy Award for Best Original Song that night.

Despite the embarrassing slip, Travolta's name fail has become an overnight viral hit, spawning parody Twitter accounts, a name generator, and even tongue-in-cheek jokes from the Broadway communityAccording to E! News, Menzel thought the Adele Dazeem mishap was a hoot.

"She laughed it off," the source told the website. "She thought it was so funny. She was like, 'What are you going to do?'"
