According the the report, the Star Trek star was pulled over and found to have a blood-alcohol limit over .08, the legal limit in New Zealand, as it is in most of the United States. Though it was nearly two weeks ago, Pine has not commented publicly on the charges.
According to The Press, a newspaper in Christchurch, Pine was at a bar called the Blue Pub for the Z for Zachariah wrap party on the night of Feb. 28 with his girlfriend Iris Bjork Johannesdottir. Pine was drinking beer and did not appear intoxicated when the couple left the bar at 2:30 a.m., according to the bar’s manager. She added that Pine had taken time to pose for photos with some of the people in the bar.
“He looked like he just wanted to spend time with his partner,” the bar’s manager told the newspaper.
