Lamar Odom Returns to the U.S. After Suffering a Back Injury
Lamar Odom has said adios to Spain.
The former NBA star’s comeback on the court was short-lived after an ongoing back injury has sidelined him.
Khloe Kardashian’s soon-to-be ex husband only played in two games for the Laboral Kutxa Baskonia Spanish team before making an early departure back to the U.S. this week for treatment.
He’s expected to be out of commission for at least a month and whether or not he’ll return to Europe to complete his two-month contract is up in the air, according to reports.
After becoming a free agent last year, the 34-year-old was hoping to sign with the Clippers or the Lakers, which never came to fruition.
In addition to his professional life, Odom has suffered even more in his personal life. He was arrested last year for a DUI and after reports of infidelity and rampant drug use, his reality star wife of four years filed for divorce in December.
“Who knows? We don’t know exactly if [the divorce is going through],” he told reporters in Spain. “Only time will tell. I hope not. But even if we were divorced, she would always be my wife.
“Those were some of the best years of my life,” he added. “Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life.”
