Mick Jagger Blasts L’Wren Scott Split Rumors
Police investigating the death of the fashion designer – whose company was millions of pounds in debt – are also said to have described her as Sir Mick’s “former” partner.
Mick’s spokesman said the couple, who had been together for 13 years, were “absolutely” still an item when Scott died.
He added: “The story about a split between Mick Jagger and L’Wren Scott is 100 per cent untrue.
“There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story. It’s a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during a very tragic time for Mick.”
The New York Post, which broke the news of Scott’s death, reported that close friends had noticed that Scott had been acting strangely for at least a week, including uncharacteristically dodging phone calls.
Scott’s suicide also followed the last-minute cancellation of her London Fashion Week show last month, with WWD reporting that she had blamed “production delays in key show and couture pieces.”
But a fashion-industry source said the real reason the show was scrapped was that “L’Wren’s business just crashed.”
Scott’s condo is owned by a holding company called “Scottland Management” — which paid $5.6 million in cash for the three-bedroom unit in 2010.
A spokesman for Scott said: “We confirm the tragic death of L’Wren Scott. At this devastating time for Ms Scott’s family and friends, we request that their privacy be respected.
“There will be no further public statement for the time-being.”
Meanwhile, Georgia May Jagger has pulled out of an appearance at Melbourne Fashion Week following the death of Scott.
The 22-year-old model – the daughter of the designer’s partner Sir Mick Jagger and his ex-wife Jerry Hall – was set to appear on the runway for Camilla Franks this week.
But after being informed of the tragedy when she landed in Sydney to take a connecting flight to Melbourne, she axed the catwalk show and has now flown out of Australia back to New York to be with her family.
