NEW PICS: Taylor Swift More Than Likely Bought Peter Jackson’s $20 Million Tribeca Penthouses
Sounds totally logical to us.
Tay-Tay has been spotted house-hunting in The Big Apple since January, and just in the last few days has been photographed coming and going as she pleases from this tony Tribeca residential building.
Just so you know, this 11-unit loft building looks a lot like the epic-loving, Oscar-winning producer/screenwriter Peter Jackson’s home away from New Zealand that he put on the market in May 2013 for a whopping $20 million.
Now, the two penthouses just closed in February, according to property records checked out by Celebuzz, and it’s been reported Swifty just bought in the exclusive Manhattan enclave just as she’s been snapped at the luxe living locale.
Okay, she could just be visiting friends, but coincidence much? We think not.
The man behind the Lord of the Rings trilogy actually bought the top floor units in 2008 for $17.35 million, which at the time was one of the nabe’s biggest real estate deals.
Jackson combined and renovated the condos to create one big crib – and by big, we mean BIG. That is, 10 bedrooms and 9 baths — plenty of rooms for Swifty’s BFFs like Lorde, Jennifer Lawrence, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevigne, Sarah Hyland, and Hailee Steinfeld all to stop by for a sleepover.
He listed it as one massive unit last year and then separated the spaces into two properties listed for $14.85 million and $5.1 million, only property records show the deal was recently sealed on the same day for both units below $19.95 million and there’s only a “mystery” buyer. And the blonde beauty’s presence has sparked a lot of local and online real estate chatter.
In fact, another loft in the same building sold for more than $6 million just days before Jackson’s came off the market, and Celebuzz can tell you the “Love Story” singer is not the buyer.
And if you ask us, Jackson’s pricey pads totally fit the country cutie’s vintage preppy chic style with soaring 12-foot beamed ceilings, wide-plank floors, exposed brick…
A museum-like living room, winding mahogany staircase, at least 38 windows on both floors for rooms to be drenched in sunlight…
More than two dressing rooms in the master suites alone, and a 2,000 square foot private landscaped terrace.
