PHOTOS: Selena Gomez Gets Served with Legal Papers
Selena Gomez May Have to Testify in Justin Bieber's Paparazzi Assault Case
The last thing anyone expects while grabbing a soda at the local convenience store is to be bombarded with legal papers.
But yesterday, Selena Gomez was surprised by just that.
The "Come and Get It" singer was running errands in a pair of daisy dukes, a patterned blouse and some flats when a process server came up from behind her and surprised her with legal documents.
Although it's not clear what the documents relate to specifically, we assume they have something to do with Gomez's involvement in Justin Bieber's paparazzi case from May 2012. The singer may have been subpoenaed to testify in the lawsuit filed by paparazzo Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran who claims Bieber "physically attacked him" at The Commons shopping center in Calabasas, Calif.
Gomez was at the scene when her ex-beau allegedly jumped out of his Mercedes Sprinter van and "delivered a martial-arts type kick" to Duran's lower-let rib cage and then punched him "hard" on the right side of his face.
According to the report, Gomez got out of the van and yelled, "Justin, stop! They're taking your picture!"
Although we don't know if these legal documents pertain to this specific case, we do know they are not in relation to another Bieber-related lawsuit. The attorney representing Jeffrey Binion--the paparazzo is claiming one of the "As Long As You Love Me" singer's bodyguards assaulted him--told E! News the papers Gomez received did not come from his office.
