Father of the Young Cancer Patient Responds to Miley Cyrus’ Alleged Make-A-Wish Diss
It’s not heart-breaking enough that his 7-year-old daughter is battling for her life, but now Miley Hodge’s father has to fend off reports one of the most magical moments in her life was ruined by a snobby superstar.
Seven-year-old Miley, whose rare form of bone cancer known as Osteosarcoma has left her with only months to live, recently met her idol Miley Cyrus as part of a special Make-A-Wish Foundation request. Only RadarOnline reported that the celeb encounter wasn’t such a dream come true.
“From what I know, it was not a very good experience for them,” family friend Brandon Deboer told the site, with another source adding that when little Miley finally met big Miley after being in L.A. a week, the singer “was more interested in what she was doing in the studio than paying attention to the little girl.”
Now, her father is speaking out for the first time about what really happened during the meet and greet that took place last year, and it’s an experience he knows his daughter will never forget.
“We are grateful for Make-A-Wish and all they do in helping kids in making their dreams come true,” Miley’s dad Bert said on Facebook. “And for the support of all the celebrities that work with them as well.
“We spent a week in Hollywood L.A. had an amazing time at Universal Studio’s and stayed at the Lowe Hotel,” he continued. “We was driven around in Limo’s and treated with the utmost respect. At the end of a long week we got our chance to meet Miley Cyrus.”
And, in an effort to clear up any misconceptions, he’s got far harsher words for his supposed friend, Mr. Deboer.
“As far as Brandon Deboer being a close family friend. This is NOT true,” Bert said. “We have never even spoken with him.”
