Michael Chiklis is Joining the Cast of ‘American Horror Story: Freakshow’

The dust has barely settled on American Horror Story: Coven, yet the whole world is just dying for any information they can get about the upcoming fourth season of the anthology horror series.

Ryan Murphy seemingly has sympathy for us all and revealed just last night that Emmy Winner Michael Chiklis has signed on for American Horror Story: Freakshow.

The news was announced Friday during the final evening of the annual television festival PaleyFest.

Kathy Bates started the night off right, surprising the crowd at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and giving herself some much needed lip service.

Appearing alongside her were Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Denis O’HareAngela Bassett, Emma Roberts, and Jamie Brewer.

After a lot of alcohol fueled banter by a surprisingly hysterical Sarah Paulson, who jokingly claimed costar Jessica Lange is a HUGE kleptomaniac, Chiklis popped out from behind the curtain and confirmed his casting to the audience.

According to Murphy, The Shield star will play Peters’ father and Bates’ ex-husband in the story which takes place in 1950’s Jupiter, Florida. He also confirmed that everyone at the panel will be returning in some capacity or another for Freakshow and that a few favorites from Murder House and / or Asylum would be returning as well.

Peters and Chiklis seem thrilled with the news, making it known on Twitter shortly after leaving the Dolby.

American Horror Story: Freakshow will begin filming in New Orleans late this summer and should be back on FX just in time for Halloween.
