Find Out Why Police Got Involved in Demi Lovato and Kathy Griffin’s Twitter Feud

So, in case you forgot, Kathy Griffin called Demi Lovato the “biggest douche celebrity” during a Twitter chat last week.

And as you’d probably assume, Demi didn’t take her remark very well, posting a demeaning Twitpic in response… But it was Demi’s fan who really went nuts… So nuts it caused the police to get involved.

During an interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday, Griffin confirmed the death threats from Demi’s “Lovatics” are still flowing in.

She described some of the more horrifying messages she received: “I will burn your house down c*nt,” she read, adding that other fans wished rape, cancer, murder and suicide upon her.

The threats eventually got so bad that Police authorities were forced to step in.

“They actually contacted me,” Griffin explained.  “Because at that point it goes beyond just Twitter hate, it’s actually legit [threats].”

“So police have to get involved and say, ‘Wait a second.  There could be a legitimate death threat here,'” Stern added.

The worst part about it?  Kathy’s “douche” remark was a mistake on Siri’s part (Yes, Siri. Your talking phone).

The comedian thought it would be “funny” to use Siri to perform the Twitter chat that night, and when she got asked the celebrity douche bag question, her answer got jumbled up.

“Siri doesn’t always interpret everything properly,” Griffin admitted.  “I couldn’t sleep and I actually went on Twitter and said, ‘I’m going to start tweeting things using Siri but I’m not going to correct any of the spelling.”

Thus, “Siri interpreted [my response] as ‘Debbie Lovato is a little douche.'”

But, in reality, Kathy has to qualms with the singer. “The point is I have no problem with Demi Lovato, or Debbi as I like to call her, as Siri calls her,” she explained.
