Prince William, Duke of Cambridge climbs in to the cockpit of a WWI Sopwith Pup bi-plane as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge looks on during a visit to Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre on Day 4 of a Royal Tour to New Zealand on April 10, 2014 in Blenheim, New Zealand.
The couple participated in a wreath-laying ceremony, which was followed by a commemoration service with 100 veterans.
During that portion of her day she wore her hair in a ponytail, while looking oh so chic while wearing an Alexander McQueen military coat, which she adorned with a “commemorative poppy pin.”
Later in the day, the couple attended a state reception at Government House in Wellington, New Zealand. For the event Kate wore a black Jenny Packham gown, which featured a silver fern (a New Zealand emblem) on the shoulder.
During the event, William and Kate unveiled a portrait of Queen Elizabeth, which was commissioned in 2012 by the New Zealand Portrait Gallery and painted last year by emerging artist Nick Cuthell.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand, the first official trip overseas with their son, Prince George of Cambridge.
