Ice Cube Feels ‘Robbed’ After Losing to Paul Walker Due to ‘Sympathy Votes’

Most people don’t complain when a person wins an award posthumously… But apparently Ice Cube isn’t like most people.

The rapper-turned-actor made his voice heard loud and clear that he was not happy about Paul Walker and Vin Diesel taking home the award for Best Onscreen Duo at Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards.

Ice Cube insists the award should have gone to him and Kevin Hart for their performance in Ride Along, and said the only reason Walker, who died in a car crash in November, won was out of “sympathy.”

“We was robbed,” he told USA Today.  “Shame on MTV.”

“We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated. For us not to win was crazy,” Ice Cube continued. “We were the best onscreen duo, period.”

In Ice Cube’s defense, he wasn’t bashing Walker or his performance. Rather, he was criticizing MTV. “They should have gave it to him before he passed away,” he added.

And his loss wasn’t the only thing the rapper/actor dissed about the Movie Awards.  He ended up leaving mid-show to go home and watch the Lakers.

“I just wasn’t into it,” he said.  “I have been going in and out of these things for 25 years.  If you ain’t into it, why torture yourself?  As soon as you get bored, get up and leave.”

Unfortunately for Ice Cube, the Lakers also loss.
