Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Illness, Hospitalization: I Was "Poisoning Myself"
Miley Cyrus has broken her silence since being discharged from the hospital for a "severe allergic reaction to antibiotics."
Speaking with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Monday, the "We Can't Stop" proves that she, well, literally cannot be stopped as she talks about getting back on the road since succumbing to a "scary" illness that forced her to postpone multiple shows on her Bangerz Tour.
"It was so scary," she says, explaining that she had a bad reaction to medicine she was taking for a cough. "I had basically been poisoning myself with something I didn’t know I was really scary allergic to."
"Every two or three hours, I would be okay and then all of the sudden it would happen to me again," she continues of the allergic reactions. "It was insane. I was begging the doctors, 'Let me out to go do the show!' It was basically no way."
The 21-year-old, who cancelled shows in Nashville, Louisville, Kansas City, and St. Louis, added that she was also in tears during her hospital stay because she couldn't be out on the road, telling Seacrest that "I was crying because I was so bored." (Really? Because I wouldn't really consider having The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne do a photo shoot by my hospital bedside as "boring." But that's just me.)
Cyrus is expected to resume her tour on May 2 when she kicks off its European leg in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
