A Look Back at the Met Gala 2004

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner, which means that the biggest events within the Fashion World are slowly starting to wrap themselves up.

But not before the most anticipated fashion event of the year, The Met Gala (A.K.A.: "The Oscars of Fashion"),  brings us another mouth-watering display of enviable gowns worn by celebs and fashionistas - like Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker - that will no doubt bring tears to our eyes over their perfection.

This years theme, "Charles James: Beyond Fashion", will revolve around the 20th-century Anglo-American visionary and couturier Charles James whose fame and acclaim comes from the simple fact that his gowns are notoriously difficult to get into and that each incredible garment was known to have weighed about 18 pounds each. (Good thing the celebrities in Hollywood work-out like crazy, right?)

Since last years Gala was geared towards punk influences on fashion and celebs were easily taken by the theme, we can expect that this year we will see lots of jewel toned, gorgeous, giant gowns on the red carpet come the first Monday in May and we couldn't be more anxious to see how the looks pan out!

All of this excitement for this years Gala however, got us thinking back to the Gala's in years past and we decided take you 10 years back in time to revisit the most memorable (good and bad) dresses from the 2004 Met Gala.

With stars like Julianne Moore, Hilary Swank, and Scarlett Johansson gracing the red carpet that night it was sure to be a one to remember as the years went on.

But in case you forgot - here's some of the looks that we just couldn't get off our minds from 2004.

Launch the gallery above to see them all and tell us which look was your favorite in the comments!
