The Twilight actress steps behind the camera to direct a music video for country-rock band Sage + the Saints. Kristen Stewart chose a baseball cap to wear as her metaphorical directors cap.
Buffalo David Bitton announced today that it has partnered with renowned actress, for the third initiative of its Blank Check Series, a program which supports self-expression and the arts by partnering with today’s cultural innovators.
Stewart, who makes her directorial debut with the music video “Take Me to the South,” is a longtime friend of Sage Galesi, whose Nashville-based rock band, Sage + the Saints is releasing its self-titled album this October.
The music video, which was shot in both Los Angeles and Nashville, was directed by Stewart and produced by Starlight Studios.
Kristen Stewart commented, "Working with Sage + The Saints for my directorial debut was a fantastic and rewarding experience. I'm extremely proud of what I and my co-creators at Starlight Studios have accomplished, and grateful for the Buffalo Blank Check Series for facilitating our creativity and artistic vision."
The music video, directed by Stewart, follows Buffalo David Bitton’s Blank Check Series projects with acclaimed stylist Kate Young, as well as hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Kate Young designed a denim-inspired holiday installation at retail for Lord & Taylor, while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis chose to work with Buffalo David Bitton to film and produce a documentary, providing viewers with a behind-the-scenes glimpse at their first world-wide arena tour.
Dari Marder, chief marketing officer, Iconix Brand Group, Inc. commented, “We were thrilled to be able to support Kristen as she embarked on a new creative journey.” “It was exciting to watch her vision unfold as she brought the project to life,” she added.
