Watch: Charlize Theron Compares Press Intrusion to ‘Feeling Raped’

Charlize Theron doesn’t Google herself.

But the Sky News reporter who recently interviewed the movie star did, and that’s how this whole discussion about the press started.

What no one saw coming was Theron’s bold statement about how press intrusion makes her feel.

After hearing a list of recent headlines about herself, Theron said, “I think it’s when you start living in that world and doing that, that you start I guess, feeling raped?”

The 38-year-old actress added, “When it comes to your son and your private life — maybe that’s just me — some people might relish in that stuff, but there are certain things in my life that I think are very sacred and I’m very protective over them.”

Theron, who recently began a romantic relationship with longtime friend Sean Penn, is a proud mother to son Jackson, who turns 2 this year.

The Million Ways to Die in the West star’s comments come days after fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow compared the impact of online bullying to being in a war.
