In a recent interview with BBC Radio, the Oscar winning actress dropped yet another hint that she’s ready to say goodbye to acting for good.
“She’s complicated, it’s complicated to get this one right,” Jolie said, referring to her upcoming movie role as Cleopatra.
“I think we’re getting there. It’s getting close. I imagine the preparation for it is going to be big. It’s one of those that you think maybe that’s the one you put everything into and that’s where you end it. That’s where you finish — in a great way. What could you do beyond that one?” [via The Guardian]
Her latest retirement chatter comes just weeks after 38-year-old told reporters at a Maleficent press conference about plans to take “more of a backseat” in Hollywood.
“I’m sure there will be more films but I am happy I am able to be selective and have fun with characters like this [Maleficent] but I would like to focus on writing and directing and above all I would like to focus more on my work with the UN.”
Jolie has been an UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for more than a decade. In 2012, the future Mrs. Brad Pitt was promoted to the rank of Special Envoy.
Her next project as a director, the war drama Unbroken starring Garrett Hedlund and Jack O’Connell, arrives in theaters in December.
