Someone Forgot To Tell Shailene Woodley That the Science Behind Barefoot Shoes Was Disproven

America's favorite mythical creature, Shailene Woodley, has a history with "body glove" shoes. But since the science behind their reported health benefits was disproven, one would have assumed that she pitched the barefoot shoes in the garbage where they belong. She did not.

Woodley was photographed wearing a pair in New York. Get a load of these bad boys. Launch the gallery for a better look at Shailene's shifty shoes.

Not quite. An unsupported claim is different from a false claim. Vibrams have helped many people, and there are scientific studies showing the benefits of going barefoot. In a 1905 study by Hoffman, 186 individuals were never wore shoes were surveyed. Not one of them had a *single* foot problem. The problem was that Vibram never did any studies on their shoes specifically, which made it wrong for them to make such claims. There's a good book on the subject written by a biology professor that is filled with scientific studies and describing the benefits of going barefoot: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0897935543/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0897935543&linkCode=as2&tag=ba0a2-20&linkId=YKHNI6GOFPMZD65T
