With just a few short days to go before the first game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, John Oliver is getting plenty of brownie points — and laughs — for his take on the organization.

On Sunday’s episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the British funnyman spent a good 13-plus minutes dissecting why it’s so easy to love and hate FIFA at the same time.

“Brasil let me put this in terms you might understand. Think of money as pubic hair and FIFA as wax,” Oliver says in the clip (above), referring to FIFA’s special tax treatment.

“They’re going to be all over you during the World Cup but when they go they’re taking all the money with them including some from places you didn’t know you had any money, leaving you teary eyed.”

Oliver goes on to tackle the tournament’s official sponsor, Budweiser, and takes a few stabs at FIFA president Sepp Blatter. (Stick around for the “greatest film ever made” about Blatter).

The 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off on Thursday with a match between Brazil and Croatia.
