Tracy Morgan's "Recovery Is Progressing" After Car Crash
Things have been getting better for Tracy Morgan.
According to a statement issued by Morgan's rep Thursday afternoon, the 30 Rock actor, who was involved in a car crash last weekend that left with with a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs, is on his way to recovery.
"Today was a better day. While Tracy remains in critical, but stable, condition, he continues to show signs of improvement. His medical team remains optimistic that his recovery is progressing," the statement reads. "[Morgan's fiancee] Megan [Wollover] remains by his side and is relaying the countless good wishes and prayers that his family, friends and fans have been sending their way."
The rep also adds that Morgan's pal Jeffrey Millea, who also suffered serious injuries during the auto collision, has "shown much improvement over the past few days."
On Saturday, the limo bus Morgan was traveling in along with six other friends was overturned in a six-car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. Morgan's mentor, James "Jimmy Mack" McNair, died in the crash.
Since then, Kevin Roper, the Wal-Mart truck driver accused of causing the collision, has pleaded not guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and four counts of assault by auto. If convicted, Roper, 35, could face 18 months of prison for each of the assault charges, while his vehicular homicide charge carries a five- to 10-year prison sentence. He is currently free on $50,000 bail.
