Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John Sandoz finalized the couple’s breakup Monday, awarding the former couple joint legal custody of their 6-year-old twin children, court records show.
The pair agreed that Lopez will have their son and daughter most of time, with Anthony caring for them for seven days a month. The singers also agreed that no child or spousal support was necessary.
Also, they agreed to use their “best efforts” to avoid unwanted publicity when it comes to 6-year-old twins Emme and Max. In the best interest of the kids the couple vow to shield them from “aggressive news organizations and photographers.”
Marc Anthony, 45, proposed to Jennifer Lopez, 44, 10 years ago, and they got married at the Beverly Hills residence of Jennifer Lopez in June 2004. Marc Anthony filed to be granted a divorce on April 9, 2012, and he asked for joint custody of their children. The couple had been living apart from each other since 2011.
The marriage was the third one for Jennifer Lopez and the second one for Anthony. Her first marriage was to the famous chef, Ojani Noa, and only lasted a year. Her second one was to backup dancer Cris Judd, who Lopez was married to from 2001 to 2003. Anthony was previously married to Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, and that marriage was from 2000 to 2004.
Soon after they split up, in 2012, Jennifer Lopez began going out with Casper Smart, 27. Just earlier this month Lopez and Smart announced that they had split, and rumors started flying around that Jennifer had started to hook up with dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
