Allow the Second Trailer for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' To Restore Your Faith in the Movie
Let's just be honest with ourselves, the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was something of a dud. It was self serious and moody and felt nothing like the familiar sardonic tone of the TMNT cartoon. But now we've got a second trailer and things are looking up.
There are still plenty of explosions and special effects because this is a Michael Bay movie after all. But the turtles are cracking wise and acting like brothers which is a good sign. It can be a tough thing, to add humor to what essentially is a superhero movie, but the jokes are central to who the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are and, without it, this would just be a movie about giant reptiles fighting monsters. Why not make another Godzilla.
This trailer also gives us our first look at Shredder, who was absent from the first trailer. He looks pretty intimidating, especially in front of Splinter, who also makes a brief appearance.
Still no pizza though.
