Shia LaBeouf Had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Night
Shia LaBeouf is probably wrestling with one hell of a hangover this morning, after he was arrested during a performance of Cabaret last night. According to a statement released by a spokesman for Cabaret, LaBeouf “was disruptive during act one and escorted out of Studio 54 at intermission.” Variety reports that LaBeouf was being “loud and disruptive” as well as smoking inside the theater. Police then took him out at intermission where he was arrested for criminal trespass and two counts of disorderly conduct.
An Instagram user posted this photo, which reportedly shows LaBeouf being taken out of Studio 54 with his hands cuffed behind his back.
Other audience members at last night’s performance say LaBeouf was acting off, even before the curtain went up. Two people told CBS New York that they’d seen him wearing a ripped shirt and chasing a homeless man outside the theater. Others said they saw LaBeouf stumbling inside the theater.
Danny Burstein, who plays Herr Schultz, wrote on Facebook, “Ladies and gentlemen, this is your places call for Act II. Also, to let you know, Shia LaBeouf has just been escorted from the building in handcuffs. Yep, that just happened.”
As usual, the most colorful commentary can be found in the New York Post. The paper reports that when officers initially approached LaBeouf he tried to walk away but fell on his face. After he was put in cuffs, the Post reports, he told officers, “I’ll fuck you up” and called an officer a “fag.” Eventually he had to be muzzled so he would stop spitting at the officers.
Following his arrest, LaBeouf was taken to the NYPD’s Midtown North Precinct for questioning. He was released just before 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.
